This was my first oil painting! I’ve always been moved and inspired by sunsets, and seeing how easily oil as a medium, with its smooth strokes and incredible blend-ability, lent itself into the serene nature of an oceanside sunset. This painting, inspired from a photo I captured as the tide retreated over the Phi Phi Islands in Thailand, made me fall in love with oil painting.
