Whispering Mangroves

Whispering Mangroves honors the sacred waterways where the Tequesta found both protection and purpose. These mangrove forests formed a living barrier between land and sea, providing food, medicine, and materials for daily life. To the Tequesta, the mangroves were also spiritual gateways - their tangled roots symbolized connection between the physical world and the realm of ancestors. The still waters carried prayers, stories, and reflections, linking community, nature, and the divine. Today, these same trees continue to guard Miami’s coast, whispering echoes of resilience and memory through every tide.
